And this game which happens to share the same title as the first game was one of Sonic's bad times. The developers were in a rush to release the game on a certain holiday that they didn't have time to thoroughly inspect the game for flaws.
But the fact that the game has programming issues is only one of the things that I find unfavorable. This game also marked the beginning were sluts took over providing the words of Tails. The sluts continue to do so to this day. When will Tails go back to the boys where he belongs?
Boys are best for him because Tails is a boy. I hope the developers understand that. OK so like i said eralyer sonic 06 was celebrating sonic's 15th anniversary. Amy: if you like playing as Amy in this game i will kill you! Amy is very slow, has this double jump, and turns invisible. This "game" is terrible, Sonic falls in love with a human princess, the camera constantly bumps in to things as if there is a physical camera ar cameraman, I would love this game The first cunscene had great graphics for it's time, but then it starts loading for another cutscene and when it finally comes on, it looks like the actual gameplay, the princess constantly gets captured or better yet gives herself up just to strech the game out, I know that it was in Super Mario Brothers for the NES, but it was , this game was made in , 21 years later, couldn't they think of something like saving more people.
Ok let's be honest, this game was really bad. But there are some good things that came from this bad idea of a game. The themes of Sonic and Silver are really good and the song used in the final cut scene in Shadow's story always pumps me up sometimes. Second, the main villain, Mephiles. He is the villain Infinite wished he was.
And he is the first and possibly only person to have killed sonic successfully. He is honestly my favorite sonic villain yet, apart from eggman of course. Third, a couple scenes have some badass in them. Don't worry I checked my pulse I'm still with us. A couple scenes from the game seemed really cool.
One example would be the final cut scene in Shadow's story of course. Just watch it and you'll see why. But the flaws are godawful. Mostly Elise, she's just princess peach but worse and would let the world die rather than forget her lover.
Yeah, that happens. After Sonic is killed and the chaos emeralds are found to revive him, the game just pulls a sleeping beauty and have Elise kiss sonic back to life. Then when the final boss is defeated, the flame of Solaris is supposed to be blown out so everything would go back to normal. But Elise refuses cause she'd forget about sonic. Luckily she realizes zoophilia is illegal and blows the fire away causing the game to be now no longer canon or something. Frankly, don't buy this game unless you're that curious as to how bad it is.
The cons outweigh the pros like weighing a flower with a 10 ton weight. This game is good but got ruined by some bugs an glitches i encounter in the game. Tails is my first favorite Sure the gameplay is glitchy and sometimes unplayable, but that's what gives it charm to my guilty pleasure loving self. This game is also really nostalgic. As you can see, I am really bias and you'd be stupid to base your opinion of this game on this review. This game is not perfect by any means; it's a technical atrocity and the gameplay is flat-out broken at times, but the characters, under-appreciated story and the amazing ways to break the game provided me with endless joy.
Before I get into this, I'll let you know that I'm a Sonic fan of old, and will play any Sonic game no matter it's "fun" value because I just love the characters. You really wanna know what's wrong with these games? There are so many things to pin-point, but I'll get to what really just hasn't been mentioned yet Sonic and friends have always been simplistic characters in a complex world.
That's something that always made the series great; you had to use whatever simple skills you had to get through a more complex level, but at the same time there was a great thrill to it. Sonic would always move so fast on these roller-coaster like worlds. That's what made the game feel so cool, you had this awesome ability to get through almost anything.
The jumping was great as well; why do you think the series was ever deemed a "platformer? Too bad by SA2, most boss battles were annoying or easy King Boo was very well done, however. It almost feels like there's nothing to earn anymore, either. Sure, collect rings, and buy Sonic a new, pointless ability that doesn't even really do anything for the game.
Someone wanna tell me what making Sonic giant-sized is going to do for a game like this? It completely defeats the purpose! And why is Sonic the only one who can get a "ring-attracting" bubble?
Everyone used to be able to have that. No special stages? No manual Super mode that eats away at your rings? Where's my quick spin-dash? Where's the speed?! The only thing that made Sonic and the Secret Rings any fun was that it had the old speed feel, but guess what?
You don't have any control over it! I don't know why we can't collect the Chaos Emeralds anymore Heck, even Sonic R let you do that. The challenge nowadays is tolerating the two seconds of speed that you don't get to control with this sluggish, slow feel to the game, not how hard the game in and of itself actually is. How hard is this game, really?
Have you ever stepped on an ant? Sweet, because you just beat Sonic the Hedgehog. The stories of SA and SA2 were lame enough that they were their own style of cool that fit the characters and game well enough, so you could enjoy the plot for what it was worth. I agree with another viewer here, we need more "Sonic-like" animal type characters for this story; Sonic needs to have his own planet in which he came from. The only cool character in this is Shadow; his voice fits, his character has a fitting attitude, and he doesn't have moronic looking expressions.
Also, his story line is the only one that makes any sense for his character, even though they cheesed him out and made him a GUN agent. The graphic are very pretty, and the sounds aren't so terrible. Sega needs to pull through though.
Sonic 06 does falter in its gameplay, preventing it from being a truly great game. It's been said the developers were under a tight deadline, and it shows. The gameplay isn't as tight as it should be, often featuring things like environmental clipping. With that said, Sonic 06 is certainly playable, unlike the truly bad games out there.
Some people might exaggerate and say Sonic 06 is broken and unplayable, but that is not the case. In fact, there is still fun to be had. Crisis City featured fun level design, as an example. At its best, Sonic 06 does feel like the next generation of 3D Sonic, taking a big leap from Sonic Adventure. Sonic 06 features unpolished gameplay, annoying loading times, and the most bizarre romance in all of gaming.
It's definitely not as well made as games like Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Colors. It's not a masterpiece, nor a great game. However, to put it next to some of the worst games out there is a disservice. The storyline is dramatic and engaging, something that is hard to come by these days from the series. The music is phenomenal, complementing the game's cinematic presentation. The game is also not unplayable, even for its time, unlike the shovelware and poorly-made titles that would soon come to the Wii.

This game is one word. I have it for the , have beat it probably 5 times, and it is awesome. It doesn't glitch at all on MY Xbox. Violence: Mild but there's kind of some scary images.
