How fast does a mathews switchback shoot

The Switchback line includes three models--including the inch, 4. The XT bridges the gap speed-wise between the faster fps yet slightly less forgiving Switchback seven-inch brace height , and the slower fps and more forgiving LD nine-inch brace height , the latter made especially for shooters with longer draw lengths.

Like other Switchback models the XT includes every bit of technology Mathews has introduced to date. This maneuverable bow has everything a hunter could ask for, what might prove the ideal tree stand or mountain weapon.

I've seen a lot of Switchback XTs on 3-D courses lately but have not handled one until now. To be honest, I wondered why any serious 3-D shooter would choose so short a bow for competition. Standing four inches better than six feet tall, drawing 30 inches, I've never been a big fan of short bows. That's changed. Mathews Inc. Solid, one-piece with V-lock Limb Cup System. A compact, highly-maneuverable bow with forgiving shooting characteristics, built-in hunting silence, and complete lack of hand shock.

I've dealt with StraightLine cam technology via a Mathews Ovation I hunt with regularly, so the silky-smooth draw cycle of the same cam technology in the XT was no surprise.

Bows so equipped pull through letoff without distracting bumps and include an accuracy-enhancing, rock-solid wall allowing you to relax during the shot without it trying to get away from you.

The StraightLine makes it easy to draw smoothly on game without excessive, attention-grabbing movement. He ended up shooting a large variety of brands, sizes, options Then went home with a used switchback cause he liked how it shot the best. The Switchback is an awesome bow. I still enjoy shooting it. Knowing what I know now I'd easily pay double even for a bare bow. This thing shoots great! Buttery smooth draw, easy to hold, accurate, and quiet.

The only negative I could think of is that to adjust your draw length you'll have to buy another cam. They're available in half inch increments so you can get dialed in. The plus side is you'll still have a top dollar bow, fully equipped and setup for cheap.

WA7S0N , Mar 15, The only bow that Mathews has ever made that I was comfortable shooting. Killkenny , Mar 15, No problems with mine.

I killed a pile of critters and won plenty of trophies with it. Messages Pretty much what BigPig said. I love my Switchback ' I believe the XT came out in 06' or ' Very smooth, little vibration, easy to draw and feels great. Mine is getting a little noisy probably because my string suppressors are wearing out I guess. I am going to replace them. I was tempted to buy the Drenalin because of the weight but I opted to stay with my Switchback. If you find one for that price you should jump on it.

You will not regret it. Thanks for the input. Is the XT more quiet or faster than the regular Switchback? The Switchback XT is one of the best hunting bows available.

No, it's just shorter, which IMO, is not a benefit. I have shot the z7 hated it , reezen liked them but not enough to trade , and monster looking to buy one but not trade the SBXT. They are the best all around bow mathews has made and i wish they still did. Ever since I have started shooting a Mathews I have test fired all of the "flag ship" bows they carry. So far I have liked every single one of them with the exception of the Monster I loved that one.

I remember when I first shot the Switchback. I promptly handed it back to the shop owner and told him to get it away from me before I wrote a check that would bounce higher than a skyscraper. Nice to shoot, no kick or jump to it, it felt like a stick of lead when it was fired. All of them are good bows, so if you can find a good deal on a Switchback, then buy it. You couldn't go wrong.

The original switchback had been my favorite mathews but the z7 is just as good if not better. The z7 is faster than the switchback and a shorter ATA. I was a little worried about the z7 ATA being that my draw length is 30" but i have had no problem at all.

The z7 is fast accurate and quiet. Messages 1, IMO but this is true information that helps with the truth on what our equipment is doing.

Hope to see more. Anyone with a bow rated at fps IBO have some true data? Messages 1, Mathews LX 64 lbs.

Mathews LX 72 lbs. JakeH Very Active Member. How do you calclate the grain of your arrows. Ive never put alot of thought into it. MM Member since Jake H. Jake: I weigh my entire arrow, inculding the broadhead, on a digital grain scale for an accurate weight.

Hoyt Ultratec cam. Lowedog Guest. Bow is rated at IBO. Bowtech Allegiance 07, I just got it last week MikeLonsford Guest. Mathews Switchback 28" 70 draw grain arrow fps.

Messages Byron, Did you happen to get a chance to check out the new Bowtech guardian when you bought your bow? I am thinking of buying a new bow and that one looks interesting. Actually weigh it on a scale ready to hunt. I just use my RCBS digital powder scale. Take it to a store and have them demo a scale. Lowedog: I shot it and must admit, it's the quietest bow I've ever shot. It has blazing speed while remaining dead in the hand too. That's a huge statement coming from a longtime Hoyt man!

Sportsmans Warehouse has a great deal on a digital grain scale. It is very accurate and gives a very fast reading. Lowedog, I didn't wait for the Guardian.
