Backstage View is new for Microsoft Excel , and is now the new home for all those peripheral Spreadsheet tasks such as printing, saving, and exporting.
You will most likely have a sheet open, so will be presented with a screen similar to the one above, which is split in to three columns:. Here you will find a host of various commands that you may need to perform whilst working on your sheet.

The first column of commands is the same as the list above, but now in the second two columns you have tools to help you locate an existing spreadsheet.
This category contains a list of recently opened workbooks. Additionally, you can load a file from a disk or cloud services. Here, you can save a file in the cloud or on your hard drive. Under this button, there are options that will let you adjust the document parameters. You can set margins, scaling, orientation, the number of copies or choose one of the available printers.
A dialogue box will be displayed asking for sheet name and sheet type. By default, it will save in sheet format with extension. Otherwise, this category does not appear. You can set a password so that nobody can open your sheet, or you can lock the sheet so that nobody can edit your sheet. When you click Info option available in the first column, it displays various properties in the third column of the backstage view. These properties include sheet size, title, tags, categories etc.
The Backstage view acts as the central place for managing your sheets. The backstage view helps in creating new sheets, saving and opening sheets, printing and sharing sheets, and so on. Getting to the Backstage View is easy. Click the File tab located in the upper-left corner of the Excel Ribbon. When you are opening a new window, you will see a window listing down all the recently opened sheets as follows:.
If there is a sheet opened already then it will display a window showing the details about the opened sheet as shown below.
